SUMMER 2021 Update & FAQ

Summer 2021 Grassroots & Recreational Soccer Update.

This page contains details and updates for all members for our Summer 2021 Club Soccer Programs (Grassroots and Recreational).

The stay at home order has certainly created some logistical challenges for our Summer Soccer Programs.

Luckily, we had planned ahead and anticipated potential disruption, allowing for flexibility in our summer programming with various potential start dates depending on the circumstances.

Following the government announcement (on May 20), we now have approval from Ontario Soccer and will looking to move forward and start this program.

Our 2021 Summer Grassroots and Recreational Club Soccer Programs will start on July 5th 2021 in line with the Province moving into Phase two (2) government guidelines.

Despite being later then originally planned, this will allow a full 10 week program to be completed.

We look Forward to seeing everyone on the field

Union FC™

We are committed to running programs this Summer as to try and bring a feeling of normality following the pandemic.

Programs will be adapted accordingly to ensure we can operate this summer if necessary. This may include a reduced program length.

This guide, covers the key areas of note regarding to our Summer programs including Program Costs and Payment. Start Date. Schedule. Uniform. Covid-19 Considerations and FAQ’s.

Program Costs and Payment

Our aim this year was to keep the cost as low as possible. We applied and were successfully approved for a grant from the Jumpstart Sport Relief Fund. This was amazing news. As a result, all of our Recreational and Grassroots programs will cost a maximum $65.00 (Excluding Uniform) instead of the original advertised prices.

Deposit and Payment.

We decided to only take a $25.00 deposit to allow people to secure spots for our Summer Programs. Everyone who has registered and paid this deposit is guaranteed their spot this summer. This deposit will be deducted from the $65.00 program fee for the summer.

The remaining Balance, will be invoiced on June 17th 2021 with the $40.00 balance then due. This will need to be paid in full prior to programs commencing so the players are adequately insured.

Any registration after this date, will pay the full $65.00 upon registration.

Start Date.

Our initial intended start date was May 31st. Due to the stay at home order being introduced and then extended, the start date was pushed back to allow for safe commencement.

We will now commence these programs on July 5th which will allow us to complete the Full 10 week program.

If the start date has to be pushed back beyond this date, we will adjust the length and price (on a pro rated basis) of the program accordingly so that we can provide as much soccer as possible to our members.

Schedule.

All of our sessions will take place during week nights between 6pm and 8pm.

Players will be separated in to groups by age and gender. We’re delighted to say that we have had a wonderful response to our Summer Programs, which are almost at full capacity with a fairly even split of both boys and girls.

Our schedule is still undergoing some minor revisions. The Final schedule will be released approximately 2 weeks prior to the program commencement (If not sooner).

We have taken care to try and optimize the schedule, so that members with sibblings of different ages are scheduled as close together as possible.

Uniform.

Uniforms are available for order via our official uniform supplier Inaria Soccer.

The Uniform package includes a coloured pinnie for game play. With covid-19 restrictions, the club will not be handing out pinnies or allowing them to be swapped between players as a safety precaution. Though players can bring and wear their own pinnie.

For some players, this is also a huge moment in their soccer journey as it might be their first ever soccer uniform. This is a special moment for any player and in addition, helps them to feel a part of our club.

Player Numbers – Players can select any number that they desire.

Division – When Prompted please select “Club Soccer Grassroots and Recreational”

Uniforms are ordered directly form Inaria and all queries relating to delivery and sizing should be sent to Inaria Directly.

If you have not yet ordered, there is still time. Inaria have stock of our uniforms ready and will ship them in the coming weeks.

We recommend ordering uniforms no later than two weeks prior to programs starting.

Covid-19 Considerations.

The Club has taken many considerations with regards to the planning for our 2021 Summer Programs. We have limited the number for groups and players on the field as to provide the safest possible environment for players and staff.

A Covid-19 protocol communication will be sent out prior to the programs commencing.
